Chad is the Assistant Director of Percussion at Richland High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Previously Assistant Director of Bands and Ensembles at Corinth Holders High School, Chad provided private instruction to students in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina for over 8 years and instructed and consulted for many ensembles in the area, including Alchemy Independent Percussion and Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. 

Chad is a proud product of Currituck County High School, located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As a member of the Marching Knights they accounted for numerous state awards and was a pivotal member in the programs growth. While in high school, Mr. Murray earned positions in the Albermarle All-County Band. During his tenure at Old Dominion University Chad was the section head for the ODU Marching Monarchs for three seasons including their Inaugural Season in 2009. Chad also was an active member in the University Pep Band, Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra. Chad studied percussion and conducting under David Walker as well as music education methods and under Dennis Zeisler and Dr. Douglas Owens. 

Chad's teaching experience stems from his first season in 2008, when he began teaching locally in Northeastern North Carolina and Southeastern Virginia. During Chad's undergraduate studies he performed with the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps in 2010 and 2011, where he aged out. In 2011 and 2012 Chad served as the Snare section leader for the WGI Independent Open ensemble Dominion Storm Independent Percussion based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Once retired from the performing side of the floor Mr. Murray assumed the position of bass drum technician for the WGI Percussion Independent Open group Forza East Independent Percussion based out of Greenville, North Carolina. In 2014 Chad returned to Forza East where he resumed his duties as the bass line technician and co-battery arranger for the ensemble's 2014 production.
