Dave has been a musician since his first words. He began a rigorous piano study at 5, and that became a catalyst for everything that followed. He picked up drum sticks when he was 8, and by the time he reached the 8th grade (around the time he started teaching piano), he joined marching band, and things started to fall into place. He marched snare drum at Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2003) before his senior year of high school, Madison Scouts (2005) and finished his marching career at RhythmX on snare, being part of the first WGI group to tour Europe in 2007, and winning their first gold medal in 2008.
Dave has been writing for the last 13 years and has worked with several high school marching bands, including State and BOA champions. He has also worked with several World Class groups - Bluecoats, RhythmX, Redline - and even went overseas to design and consult with DrumSpirit (Dadizele, Belgium) from 2008-2010, when they came to the states and made their first finals appearance at the 2010 WGI World Championships.
Dave currently resides in New Albany, Indiana, where he serves as the Arranger and Director of Percussion at Floyd Central High School (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) and John Hardin High School (Elizabethtown, KY). He feels lucky to have the opportunity to bring INov8 Winter Percussion to an area with such rich arts programs and talented people.
