john schindler

John Schindler has been the Director of Instrumental Music at Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Florida since 2016. At Boca Ciega, he conducts the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra and coordinates the Color Guard program. Mr. Schindler has also taught at Bayshore High School in Bradenton, FL, LaBelle High School in LaBelle, FL and the Fostoria City Schools in Fostoria, OH. He has also performed as a percussionist with a number of professional and community groups in Ohio and Florida.

Mr. Schindler is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH (B.M. 2008). He has memberships that include the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Orchestra Association, and Florida Music Educators Association. John is a native of Avon, OH and graduate of Avon High School. He currently lives in Saint Petersburg, FL with his wife Renee, who is the color guard director at Boca Ciega. In their free time, Mr. and Mrs. Schindler enjoy spending time with their children, enjoying the beach, and going to baseball games
