Kayla Hargraves is currently a percussion technician, clinician, and composer for several schools across Texas. In 2015, she graduated from Lamar University with her Bachelor's degree in Music Education under the direction of Travis Fife and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Music Education.
While attending Lamar University, Kayla had the opportunity to work with and teach the Drumline, Front Ensemble, Cymbal Line, and Percussion Ensemble. She also took part in both the Chamber Percussion Ensemble and the Standstill Indoor Drumline that both finished in 1st place at PASIC 2015.
Kayla has also been active in creating percussion camps and competitions throughout Texas. In 2011, Ms. Hargraves co-founded the Big Red Drums of Summer percussion camp which has grown to several locations across the state. Along with her continued performances, Kayla is an active drumline tech, private lesson teacher, composer, clinician, and adjudicator around the state.
Kayla has had the privilege of working with such artist as Travis Fife, Dr. Matt Holm, Ney Rosauro, Bob Becker, Scott Johnson, Bret Kuhn, Yurika Kimura, Jim Campbell, Eric Hines, Matthew Ferry, Brian “chavez” Lowe, Lonny Benoit, Tom Nevill, Kevin Sedatole, David Maslanka, Eric Boyett and Joe Gary, Taha Ahmed, and Ben Pyles. Kayla is proud to endorse and represent Salyers Percussion sticks and mallets along with Dynasty and Bergerault Percussion Equipment.
