Megan Moede is currently a percussion instructor and private lessons teacher for percussion and piano in the Dallas area at Little Elm High School and The Colony High School. She has taught many groups in Texas including Melissa High School, Azle High School, Churchill High School, Centennial High School and several other state-making, UIL proficient and competitive BOA bands. She also has taught multiple indoor percussion groups in the NTCA and TCGC circuit.
Her teaching experience expands beyond music. She has also served as an academic content teacher specializing in reading and special education. She is working towards obtaining her masters degree at TWU in Deaf Education.
Moede went to school for her undergraduate BA in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Music. She used that experience to move to Dallas, TX to work for Lone Star Percussion for several years. During her collegiate time, she interned for WGI, worked in the Texas Color Guard Circuit, and served as an intern for the Texas State School of Music. She also attended PASIC with the Texas State University Ensemble under the instruction of Kari Klier.
Moede marched one year at Capital Regiment, one year at Carolina Crown and three years at Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Moede studied under Mike McIntosh, Ian Hale, Tom Aungst, Colin McNutt and Dr. Brian Tinkle and other incredibly influential teachers. Most recently, she served on staff at Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps in 2016.
Moede plans to continue teaching in the Texas area while pursuing her masters, and ultimately her PhD.
