Currently a Drummer/Percussionist for Christ Church of Orlando, Identity Student Ministries, Village Beatniks (at Disney’s Animal Kingdom), Groove Chefs (at Sea World Orlando), and percussion/group lead of UPBEAT (a stilt marching percussion ensemble), Mike is well-versed in many world, orchestral, and marching forms of percussion. He is endorsed by Vic Firth Inc and Dynasty Drums.
A product of the University of Florida Gator Drumline and the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps, Mike has had the privilege to work with and learn from percussionists such as: Kit Chatham, Rich Viano, Lee Hansen, John Campese, and many more.
Mike has instructed and arranged/composed for many groups throughout the state of Florida including: Santa Fe High School, Forest High School, Belleview Middle School, Belleview High School, Lecanto High School, Miami Senior High School, Barbara Goleman High School, Trinity Catholic High School, WGI Open Class ensemble Paradox Percussion Theatre, and more. For the 2009 WGI season Mike will be returning to World Class finalist, INFINITY Percussion, for his second year as Battery Coordinator.
On the freelance side of music Mike is a studio percussionist for Ant Bytes Records, based just outside of the Orlando area. He's also had musical appearances with performers from all over the country, including rap artists The Rikshaw and Atlanta-based Ramisu, along with Christian recording artists Suzy Holmbeck, Lester & Holly Rector, and Sam Kenoly.
Along with these accomplishments, Mike completed Associate Degrees in Business and Music in addition to his B.A. in Business Management. Other musical accomplishments for Mike include giving private lessons and clinics at many schools throughout central Florida. He is currently serving his second season as a percussion instructor for Winter Park High School as well as a percussion consultant for many other area schools.
Mike stays active by making himself available for clinics, performances, and lessons and is always seeking new, challenging projects.
